Katniss, did it take you a while to decide whether or not to name your daughter Prim? I would imagine you might have thought it would be too painful.
Oh, it wasn’t easy. Sometimes it hurts to even look at her, knowing her name is Prim. The reminder it always brings back hurts. I named my daughter Prim for my sister, yes, but the primary reason was for myself. It reminds me who I fought for. Every action I made was based solely on the safety of my sister Prim. I named my daughter after her in honor. Her name will not be forgotten. And now I have another person to love and protect, another reason to live.
