The one night at the Quarter Quell. There have been and still are innumerable times where Peeta captures my heart, but this night specifically stood out. He offered me his locket. When I looked inside, it had pictures of all my loved ones. My father, my mother, Prim… Gale. He told me that he wanted me to win. He said that if I died, there was nothing left for him back home. He was giving up everything for me. I couldn’t take it. He was too good. I kissed him, and this was the first night I realized that I truly loved him. 

… all of it was so sweet.

Of course, it didn’t persuade me. I wasn’t going to change my mind, I was going to keep him alive, whatever the cost might have been.

I couldn’t lose the boy with the bread…
